MAMP PRO - Preferences - General

  • My Favorite Link
    Set the “My Favorite Link” on the WebStart page. This link will appear on the top bar of the WebStart page.

  • Keyboard shortcuts for MAMP-PRO Only M cannot be used as a shortcut key. The ^ key stands for the Ctrl key.

  • Show status in menu bar.
    The elephant icon will appear in the menubar. If MAMP PRO has the servers running, the elephant icon will be blue, if the servers are not running, the elephant will be gray.

    • Don’t use blue elephant.
      If you check this box, the elephant in the menu bar will be black instead of blue when the servers are running.

  • Show a red dot on the Dock icon when a server is running.
    If you check this box, a red dot will appear on the MAMP PRO icon in the Dock when the servers are running.

  • Hide Dock Icon
    The dock icon will be hidden. This option will not take effect until MAMP PRO is restarted.

    Note: Hiding the dock icon will also hide the MAMP PRO menu bar.

  • Use Notification Center
    The Notification Center will inform you when Apache and MySQL are started. Notifications are only displayed when MAMP PRO is not in the foreground.

“Don’t Ask Again” Flags.
Reset “Don’t ask again” alerts.

Server

MAMP PRO - Preferences - Server

    • Launch GroupStart Servers

    • manually
      Enable this option if you want to start the servers and services manually.

    • on System Startup
      Enable this option if the servers and services are to be started when macOS is started. This means that the servers and services are available before a user has logged into the system.

    • when starting MAMP PRO
      Activate this option if the servers and services should be started when MAMP PRO is started.

  • Server Log Files

    • never delete or rotate
      Activate this option if all entries should always be written to the same log file, no matter how large or old it is.

    • delete before starting a server
      Activate this option if an existing log file should be deleted before starting the server or service.

    • rotate when larger than 100 MByte
      Activate this option if a new log file should be created when the existing log file reaches a file size of 100 MByte.

    • rotate when older than 7 days
      Activate this option if a new log file should be created when the existing log file is at least 7 days old.

  • Stop Servers

    • when quitting MAMP PRO
      Activate this checkbox if the servers and services are to be stopped when MAMP PRO is terminated.

  • Open WebStart Page

    • when starting MAMP PRO
      Activate this checkbox if the WebStart page should be opened in your standard browser when MAMP PRO is started. Start GroupStart Server

  • Stop Server

    • When exiting MAMP PRO.
      Check this box if you want the servers and services to be stopped when MAMP PRO is shut down.

  • Open WebStart Page

    • When MAMP PRO starts.
      Select this checkbox if you want the WebStart page to open in your default browser when MAMP PRO starts.

Snapshots

MAMP PRO - Preferences - Snapshots

  • Never ask for snapshot names
    Check this box if you do not want MAMP PRO to prompt you for a name when creating a snapshot. When MAMP PRO automatically creates a snapshot in the background, it will never prompt you for a name.

  • Do not create snapshots automatically
    When this option is enabled, no snapshots are taken when you load a host from the cloud or import and migrate a remote host. If this option is cleared, these operations can’t be undone.

Updates

MAMP PRO - Preferences - Updates

  • Automatically check for Updates
    If you check this box, MAMP PRO will automatically check for updates. As soon as an update is available, MAMP PRO will notify you.

  • Check Now
    By clicking this button, MAMP PRO will check for updates.
