Upgrading from version 6 to version 7
System Requirements
Please make sure your development environment meets these system requirements for MAMP PRO.
Installation Process
- Download “MAMP & MAMP PRO Downloader” from www.mamp.info.
- Double click on the file “MAMP-MAMP-PRO-Downloader.zip” in your download folder. This unpacks the ZIP archive.
- Double click on the file “MAMP & MAMP PRO Downloader.app” in your download folder.
- The downloader downloads the appropriate version for your system and starts the installation.
- The system installer will guide you through the installation process.
- The installer will rename your existing “/Applications/MAMP” to “/Applications/MAMP_current_date”. You can delete this folder later. However, you may want to keep it so that you can revert to your original setup.
- Your existing “htdocs” folder will be moved to your new “/Applications/MAMP” folder.
- If you have made changes to the templates for the configuration of components such as Apache, Nginx, PHP, MySQL or Redis, this is recognized and the corresponding templates are saved on your Desktop in a folder with the name “MAMP PRO Saved Templates current_date”. You therefore have the option of reintegrating your changes into the templates.
- Confirm that all data has been transferred correctly before starting MAMP PRO.
- Your “/Applications/MAMP_current_date” folder can now be deleted. You can keep it if you want to go back to your original setup.
