Where is my my.cnf file located?

MAMP PRO generates the my.cnf configuration file at the following location:

/Applications/MAMP/tmp/mysql/my.cnf

Caution

Do not edit this file directly. MAMP PRO overwrites it every time MySQL is restarted, using the MySQL template as the source.

To modify the MySQL configuration, open the template via File › Open Template and select the entry for your active MySQL version (5.7 or 8.0). All configuration changes should be made there.
